The approved plan development by Golub & Company will include two 48-story residential towers at 345 East Ohio Street, immediately east of the Time-Life Building. Phase I will be the westernmost building with 481 rental units, retail space and a public and private parking garage. Phase II also will be a 48-story building, containing retail space and a public and private parking garage. In a variance from Phase I, the Phase II building will have 421 condominium units, and no rental units. Also, included in Phase II of this development will be the widening of McClurg Court, between Ohio Street and Grand Avenue.
Construction of the first tower is nearing completion. There was a partial opening in August 2006. The construction of the second tower is expected to start in April 2007.
