T.Y. Lin International was responsible for the design, construction administration and inspection for major airfield and terminal apron rehabilitation projects at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. The firm closely coordinated with the Aviation Department, FAA, and airline representatives, to develop detailed phasing plans to allow for construction to be completed efficiently while maintaining airport and airline operations.

The Ramp Rehabilitation Package included concrete pavement replacement, pavement repairs, joint resealing, and reconfiguration of aircraft and ground equipment ramp markings for all gates located at Concourses D, E and F. The project also included the rehabilitation of asphalt Taxilanes surrounding the Concourses. The Taxilane rehabilitation work was accomplished during nighttime hours returning the area to normal aircraft operations each day. The Taxiway Rehabilitation package included milling and overlaying airfield pavement, reconstruction of selected pavement sections, shoulder widening, taxiway geometry corrections, airfield marking and new LED edge lights for Taxiway â€œB.â€ Detailed Phasing and Safety plans were prepared to maintain aircraft operations during the construction.
