This Project will include the design and construction of a new railway cut and cover tunnel and two viaducts with the following dimensions:
C210 from 16k+800 to 21k+577, excluding the Hueilung Tunnel - the length of viaduct is approximately 2.63 kilometers.
C215 from 28k+080 to 64k+139, excluding the tunnel and cut/fill section - the length of viaduct is close to 29.44 kilometers.
The length of the cut and cover tunnel is about 2.74 kilometers.
The cut/fill section is approximately 0.8 kilometers.
Project Highlights:
- The standard viaduct structures that have been selected span 30 meters and 40 meters, and will be simply supported prestressed concrete box girder.
- For viaducts that cross the existing main road, a three-span continuous rigid frame or continuous girders will be used to support the two high-speed railway tracks.
- The cut and cover tunnel will carry a section of two railway tracks and a transition section from two to four tracks near Taoyuan Station.
- The type of foundation used for the viaducts will be spread footing or pile foundation, which will be decided based on soil conditions.
