T.Y. Lin International (TYLI) prepared a space study and master plan for the design and construction of new facilities for the South Post at Fort Drum Army Base in Jefferson County, New York. The project was overseen by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New York District.
The purpose of the South Post space study was to provide a comprehensive master plan for the construction of new facilities that would replace old buildings constructed of substandard WWII wood. This is in accordance with Army Regulation 420-1, Army Facilities Management, for Active Army garrisons.
Located on 107,265 acres in New York’s “North Country,” Fort Drum supports the mobilization and training of nearly 80,000 American troops annually and is the home of the U. S. Army 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry), its supporting elements, and tenant units.
- TYLI services included complete analysis of facility requirements, area facility planning, cost estimating, and documentation preparation.
- The project also included the addition of a new, multiuse administrative facility in Fort Drum’s North Post Parade Field.
