This 593 meters long bridge along the Kuching /Santubong /Telok Bandung Road crosses the Santubong River, and was constructed using the cast-in place double cantilever box girder method. It was the first bridge of its type built in Sarawak.
Project Highlights:
- The cast-in-situ double-cantilever box girder bridge has a main span of 146 meters and side span of 81 meters.
- Precast concrete permanent formwork units were used in the construction of two large pile caps, which are located in the inter-tidal zone of the river. Similar units were utilized in the construction of the 4-meter deep fender protection beams around each of the pile caps.
