The circular Shah Alam Stadium forms part of a large sports complex in Kuala Lumpur. The diameter of the stadium is approximately 305 meters and features a spectator seating capacity of 75,000.
Project Highlights:
- Two crescent-shaped space-frame roof structures cover the majority of the grandstand area.
- The roof structures are supported only along the outer edge of the stadium, and the cladding over the roof structure is of translucent material such as polycarbonate or Plexiglas.
- The grandstand is constructed of bleachers supported on concrete frames.
- Single tees and double tees are used for the 5 levels of structures located behind the grandstand.
