T.Y Lin International worked with the University of Rochester to rezone approximately 255 acres of University property to become an Institutional Planned Development (IPD) in the Town of Brighton, and the entire River Campus and Medical Center Campus in the City of Rochester. The firm managed the application/DEIS process for the University, which included developing conceptual plans and managing consultants. In addition to serving as Project Lead, TYLI performed all site-related design work, including utility and infrastructure demands, and traffic analysis.
TYLI was responsible for compiling all data and analysis results, as well as for the preparation of the DEIS document. TYLI also worked with the Monroe County Department of Transportation and the New York State Department of Transportation to adequately address the potential traffic impacts of this significant development. Of particular interest was the timing of NYSDOT proposed improvements in relation to the buildout for the University. This analysis was regional in scope, examining the I-390 corridor, two interchanges, and a number of collector roads.
