    The Kuala Lumpur Pavilion sits on a 12.6 acre site facing Jalan Raja Chulan / Jalan Bukit Bintang.

    The project consists of :-

    Phase 1
    6 storey shopping mall and 9 storey entertainment centre and 3 basement car park.

    Phase 2
    1 block 20 storey office, 2 block 43 storey and 50 storey (above shopping mall) service apartment and 15 storey hotel.

    The Service Apartment is named “The Pavilion Residence” and consists of 368 units of high end services apartments spread over two towers. The unit sizes for these apartments ranges from about 1200 sq.ft for a 2 room unit, 2000-2500 sq.ft for a 3 room unit to 4 bedroom units of about 4000 sq.ft on the higher floors. There are also duplex units and a penthouse over each block. Structurally, a shear wall concept has been adopted for the apartment towers with a transfer plate located a floor above the podium roof level. The towers are founded on individual piled rafts.

    The shopping centre is the main focus of the development, taking up a nett lettable area of 1.37 million square feet spread over 7 retail levels with approximately 450 retail shops.

Due to the substantial size of the project, various types of structural systems were used to suit the requirements. Many engineering solution had been adopted to reduce costs, simplify construction, and ensure that the structure is easy to maintain.

    This stadium is circular on plan with a diameter of 1,000 ft and houses 75,000 seats for spectators. It forms part of a large sports complex. Two crescent-shaped space-frame roof structures cover the majority of the grandstand area. The roof structures are supported only along the outer edge of the stadium, the cladding over the roof structure is of translucent material such as polycarbonate or plexiglass. The grandstand is constructed of bleachers supported on concrete frames. Single Tees and double tees are used for the five levels of structures located behind the grandstand.

    The project consists of 3 blocks of 7 to 13-storeys office buildings namely the North, South and Centre Tower located at Precinct 2 in the Core island of Putrajaya.

    The structural frames were designed to withstand lateral load induced from a high hillslope behind the building. This lateral force was eventually translated to the foundation which was designed to withstand the lateral forces. The Centre Tower is curved inwards and supported on column frames inclined at 15 to achieve the leaning effect.

    Ir. Wong Loo Min graduated in Bachelor of Civil Engineering from University of Wales, U.K. in 1982. As the Managing Director of T. Y. Lin International Sdn. Bhd. (Malaysia Office), Ir. Wong is responsible for the administration of the office, co-ordination of design developments and implementation of projects and business development in Malaysia, China, Vietnam and South Korea. He joined T. Y. Lin Singapore since 1983 and he is a registered Professional Engineer form Board of Engineer Malaysia (BEM) with more than 30 years of practical experience in civil and structural engineering works. Ir. Wong also serves on the Board of Directors of T Y Lin International Group in USA and China. He is also the President of the Associate of Consulting Engineers, Malaysia (ACEM) from 2011 to 2013 and the Director for the Green Building Index Sdn. Bhd. (GBI).

As the Director of T. Y. Lin Malaysia, her responsibilities include the co-ordination of all phases of building and bridge projects from inception to final design and contract administration. She is also involved in the daily administration and ISO implementation in the office. Ir. Chin has joined T. Y. Lin International since 1988 and she is a registered Professional Engineer from Board of Engineer Malaysia (BEM) with more than 30 years practical experience in civil and structural engineering works. Ir. Chin is also the Accredited Checker in the Structural discipline registered with the Board of Engineer Malaysia (BEM) and the Green Building Index Facilitator.

Lin International since 1990 and he is a registered Professional Engineer from the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) with more than 30 years of extensive experience in the design of infrastructure works and building structures. He is currently in-charge of the KLIA 2 project, the 58 storey Ilham Tower and the Le Nouvel Serviced Apartments both in Kuala Lumpur, and the Pinnacles, a corporate office in Petaling Jaya.

Currently, he is in-charged of several projects in Klang Valley, such as the proposed 2 blocks of 50-storey office and service apartment in Berjaya Central Park, the proposed Garden Tropicana City, a mega mixed development project at Petaling Jaya, Verdana, Serai, KM1 and Rimbun condominium developments and the proposed re-development of Tradewind buildings in down town KL.

Lin Malaysia, since December 1999. As the Managing Director of the firm his duties include office administration and finance, client relation and promotion, business development and also involve directly in projects. Dr. Syed is a registered Professional Engineer from the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) with more than 30 years practical experience in the civil, structural and agricultural engineering works.
