MTC Regional Zero-Emission Transit Transition Plan
TYLin is supporting MTC in developing a comprehensive regional zero-emission transit transition plan for the Bay Area.
For this effort, we will identify regional synergies for the transition to zero-emissions transit among the Bay Area’s 27 different transit operators (including ferry operators). This effort will identify opportunities for shared opportunity charging at BART stations and other transit centers, shared hydrogen infrastructure or fuel, potential collaborations on procurements and workforce development, opportunities for paratransit electrification, and other synergies. The project will also establish a regional framework for sharing best practices and coordinating pilot projects. The project will estimate the total cost of transition for the 27 transit agencies and establish a regional narrative to augment competitiveness for federal funding sources.
