T.Y. Lin International (TYLI), a globally recognized full-service infrastructure consulting firm, announced today that it is working with a team, led by Newport Ventures, to provide plan review assistance, training and other opportunities for New York State Code Enforcement Offices as they strive to achieve compliance with the new Energy Construction Code of New York State.

The service will be made available at no charge to local code officials through a grant administered by the US Department of Energy and funded by the American Resource and Recovery Act, and the process has been designed for optimum ease of use. NYSERDA, through its partnership with TYLI and Newport Ventures, is offering free residential and commercial plan review advisory services through June 2012.

With codes and standards compliance driving the building industry in New York more today than at any other time in history, TYLI is well-equipped to provide professional services related to building code compliance, interpretation, design development, inspection, review, and municipal approvals to New York State Code Enforcement Offices. Offering a dedicated team of New York State Certified Code Enforcement Officials, including members of the New York State Codes Division’s Western Regional Board of Review, TYLI’s code compliance team is supported by a collaborative group of architects, engineers, fire protection specialists, and planners. TYLI energy code experts and Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) accredited design professionals have also served as advisors on the International Code Council.
