TYLin, a globally recognized, full-service infrastructure consulting firm, is pleased to announce that Alvaro Buendia, PE, has joined the firm as Sector Manager, New York Rail + Transit within the Project Management + Construction Management (PM + CM) practice area. Alvaro will partner with TYLin’s northeast rail and transit clients to deliver PM and CM services on complex projects.

With its newly consolidated PM + CM practice area, TYLin is elevating the services offered to clients across the nation. TYLin understands the challenges faced by clients to deliver the highest-quality projects in the shortest possible time with the best use of funds. By offering PM + CM services to its clients, TYLin works as a staff extension to achieve project delivery on time and within budget while addressing challenges as they arise. Alvaro offers diverse and capable experience to support these efforts.

He has 23 years of construction management experience in rail, heavy civil, facilities, and infrastructure. His experience supporting major capital improvement infrastructure and transit programs in the New York City metropolitan area, coupled with major private industry facility construction and expansion projects, are a natural client fit. Alvaro has coordinated the delivery of complicated projects with multiple stakeholders for such clients as the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, New York City Transit, Long Island Rail Road, New Jersey Transit, and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.

Alvaro holds a Master of Science in Construction Management from Stevens Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Universidad de los Andes, Bogota, Colombia.
