James Tai has been with T.Y. Lin International since 1968 and was appointed Chairman of T.Y. Lin International Taiwan in 1991. Mr. Tai manages many of T.Y. Lin International’s special projects in Taiwan and abroad.
He is a pioneer in the industry, having worked on the designs of two of the first concrete segmental bridges constructed in the Western Hemisphere. Mr. Tai’s work includes transportation structures and large facilities such as the landmark Moscone Convention Center, a 250,000 square foot column free exhibit hall, the mega-project Taiwan High Speed Rail, and the Sun Yat-Sen Freeway, a $1 billion construction project in Taipei.
