T.Y. Lin International Wins 2014 Grand Conceptor Award and National Recognition Awards from American Council of Engineering Companies

T.Y. Lin International (TYLI), a globally recognized full-service infrastructure consulting firm, announces that TYLI has received four 2014 Engineering Excellence Awards from the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC). TYLI’s Wacker Drive and Congress Parkway Reconstruction Project for the City of Chicago, one of the year’s eight ACEC Grand Award Winners, also received ACEC’s top honor, the 2014 Grand Conceptor Award for most outstanding engineering achievement of the year. Two additional TYLI projects were honored with 2014 ACEC Engineering Excellence National Recognition Awards: the Dan Ryan Red Line Track Reconstruction Project in Chicago and the New York Avenue Bridge Rehabilitation Project in Washington, D.C. ACEC’s annual Engineering Excellence Awards competition, which is considered the most prestigious awards program in the engineering industry, recognizes preeminent engineering accomplishments from around the world. TYLI and the firm’s project partners accepted the awards at ACEC’s Engineering Excellence Awards Gala on April 29, 2014 in Washington, D.C.

Marwan Nader, Ph.D., P.E., Receives 2014 Distinguished Alumni of the Year Award from American University of Beirut

Lin International (TYLI), a globally recognized full-service infrastructure consulting firm, announces that Marwan Nader, Ph.D., P.E., TYLI Vice President and Technical Director of the firm’s Bridge Line of Business, received a 2014 Distinguished Alumni of the Year Award from the American University of Beirut (AUB). Nader, who received his BEng with Distinction at AUB in 1986, received the award at the university’s 13th Faculty of Engineering and Architecture Student and Alumni Conference on April 23, 2014.

T.Y. Lin International Announces Grand Opening of Historic, Newly-Retrofitted North Torrey Pines Road Bridge in Del Mar, CA

T.Y. Lin International (TYLI), a globally recognized full-service infrastructure consulting firm, announces the completion of the North Torrey Pines Road Bridge retrofit project in Del Mar, California, an event which was marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony on April 15, 2014. TYLI was responsible for all Construction Management services for the project for the City of Del Mar, the project owner. This included providing a full-time Resident Engineer, Structures Representative, Bridge, Roadway and Underground Inspectors, and an Office Engineer. TYLI planned all construction work in stages to ensure limited interruptions to the travelling public or the railroad. This included moving traffic partially onto a temporary structure, which was built on the side of the existing structure and relocated for each stage of construction.

T.Y. Lin International Wins California High-Speed Rail Environmental/Engineering Services Contract for Bakersfield to Palmdale Section

T.Y. Lin International (TYLI), a globally recognized full-service infrastructure consulting firm, announces that the California High-Speed Rail Authority has awarded TYLI a five-year, $46.1 million environmental/engineering services contract for the Bakersfield to Palmdale Section of California’s high-speed passenger rail system. Under the provisions of the contract, TYLI will be responsible for such services as project management; public participation support; project definition; preliminary engineering; environmental impact analysis; draft and final project-level environmental impact reports and environmental impact studies, including certification and programmatic permitting; plans and specifications for construction procurement; and coordination with key stakeholders and local agencies.

T.Y. Lin International Announces Completion of Galveston Street Bicycle & Pedestrian Bridge in Chandler, Arizona

T.Y. Lin International (TYLI), a globally recognized full-service infrastructure consulting firm, announces the completion of the Galveston Street Bicycle & Pedestrian Bridge in Chandler, AZ. The new structure crosses over Arizona State Route 101 (Loop 101), re-establishing a vital link in the City’s Bike System while also reducing traffic congestion and improving air quality. TYLI was responsible for the design of the bicycle and pedestrian bridge, as well as post design-services, where the firm worked closely with the City of Chandler and the Arizona Department of Transportation to address requests for information (RFIs), review shop drawings, and coordinate changes during construction.
