T.Y. Lin International Welcomes Paula Pienton, S.E., P.E., as Associate Vice President/Central Region Transit & Rail Director


T.Y. Lin International (TYLI) announced today that Paula Pienton, S.E., P.E., has been named Associate Vice President/Central Region Transit & Rail Director. Pienton will be responsible for providing leadership, direction and management in the Central Region of the Transit and Rail sector, leading strategic and tactical planning efforts, overseeing client relations, and supporting market research.

Pienton served as Project Director on work being provided to the Chicago Department of Transportation, Chicago Transit Authority, Metra, and Class I Railroads, including asset management services, Bus Rapid Transit studies, capacity improvement designs and program management services. She has completed New Starts feasibility studies for new transit services, environmental service contracts from categorical exclusions to EIS documents, design services for bridge replacement contracts, and construction phase support for implementation of improvements.

Prior to joining TYLI, Pienton was a Vice President and the Midwest Transit/Rail Market Sector Lead at AECOM. Before joining AECOM, Pienton served as the Transportation Business Group Manager for the Chicago office of HDR, where she worked for 14 years. She also worked as a Project Manager for Capital Projects at Metra and started her career as a Structural Engineer with Alfred Benesch & Co.

Pienton is extremely active in her field, serving as Director of the University of Illinois College of Civil and Environmental Engineering Alumni Association and is a Member of Women's Transportation Seminar (WTS), American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association's (AREMA) Committee 17, American Public Transportation Association's (APTA) Policy and Planning Committee, and American Council of Engineering Companies' (ACEC) Illinois Transit Committee. She also completed the Eno Center for Transportation’s Transit Executive Seminar.

Pienton received her Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign and worked toward a Master of Business Administration from Loyola University in Chicago. She is a registered Professional Civil Engineer in both Wisconsin and Illinois and is a registered Structural Engineer in Illinois.
