T.Y. Lin International Wins 1st Place at 2013 SMPS National Marketing Communication Awards
T.Y. Lin International (TYLI), a globally recognized full-service infrastructure consulting firm, has received a 1st Place Award at the Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS) 2013 National Marketing Communications Awards for The Bridge at Hoover Dam (2011, Nazraeli Press), the firm’s fine art book on the design, engineering and construction of the Hoover Dam Bypass/Mike O’Callaghan-Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge. The SMPS National Marketing Communications Awards Program is the longest-standing awards competition that recognizes excellence in marketing communications by professional services firms in the design and building industry. TYLI received the 1st Place Award for the Book/Monograph category at the SMPS Awards Gala on August 2, 2013 in Orlando, FL.
The Bridge at Hoover Dam is an oversized monograph featuring 60 museum-quality color images by renowned American photographer, Jamey Stillings, as well as in-depth essays by TYLI chief bridge engineer and lead designer, David Goodyear, in which he describes the design process and engineering solutions developed for the iconic bridge. Now in the collections of the U.S. Library of Congress, The Bridge at Hoover Dam was honored earlier this year with a 2013 Gold Quill Award from the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC).
“As lead design engineering firm of the multi award-winning Hoover Dam Bypass Bridge, TYLI recognized an opportunity to use fine art photography and compelling essays to tell the story behind the design, engineering and construction of the landmark span,” said Maribel Castillo, TYLI Associate Vice President and Director of Corporate Communications. “We are proud to be recognized by SMPS for our outstanding marketing communications efforts.”
