Neil Porto, P.E., Hired as T.Y. Lin International Transportation Group Leader for New York City
T.Y. Lin International (TYLI) is pleased to announce that Neil Porto, P.E., has joined the firm as Group Leader, Transportation, for TYLI’s New York City market. In his new role, Porto will be responsible for area business development initiatives, proposal generation, management of transportation projects and related engineering teams, and the supervision and development of assigned staff.
With close to 30 years in the transportation engineering industry, Porto comes to TYLI with extensive experience in infrastructure group management and business development. Representing firms to clients, subconsultants, and professional organizations, he has developed professional relationships and coordinated work with all major federal, state and local agencies as well as private utilities and developers. These include the New York State Department of Transportation, New York City Department of Transportation, New York City Department of City Planning, New York City Parks Department, New York City Economic Development Corporation, Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA)/New York City Transit (NYCT), and MTA/Long Island Rail Road (LIRR).
Porto’s professional experience as a Senior Project Manager has encompassed major transportation infrastructure projects in the highway/bridge, transit, waterfront/marine, and buildings/facilities sectors. Among his many project successes are the rehabilitation of significant sections of New York’s busy Southbound FDR Drive; the design of Station Plaza, a series of intermodal improvements at LIRR/NYCT Jamaica Station in Queens, New York; the East River Esplanade and Piers Project in Manhattan; New York City’s new East 26th Street Sanitation Garage; and NYCT’s West 96th Street Station Rehabilitation/New Station House.

A licensed engineer in the states of New York and New Jersey, Porto received his Bachelor of Civil Engineering from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. He is an active member of the American Society of Highway Engineers and the Metropolitan Waterfront Alliance.
