T.Y. Lin International (TYLI), a globally recognized full-service infrastructure consulting firm, announces that Andrew Dohrmann has been hired as Government Relations Director for the firm’s Northern California District. In his role, Dohrmann will be responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with senior leadership at client agencies throughout Northern California. His primary focus will be transportation policy and transportation infrastructure project development and funding. Dohrmann will also support other TYLI government relations initiatives as needed throughout the United States.

Dohrmann comes to TYLI with more than 11 years of policy and political experience in the United States Congress. Most recently, he served on the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works in Washington, D.C., where he administered the transportation portfolio of Senator Barbara Boxer (D-CA), former Committee Chairperson and current Ranking Member, with jurisdiction over the Federal Highway Administration. Dohrmann has played a key role in the development of recent major federal infrastructure laws. He was the prime author of the $305 billion “Fixing America’s Surface Transportation Act” (FAST Act), enacted into law in December of 2015, and the $105 billion “Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century Act” (MAP-21), enacted into law in July of 2012. Prior to this position, Dohrmann worked in the House of Representatives for a senior Member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, focusing on surface transportation and water infrastructure issues.

“T.Y. Lin International is pleased to have Andrew join us, as he is a nationally recognized transportation policy expert with significant experience working with public agencies in the State of California,” said Michael F. Pyrz, P.E., TYLI Northern California District Director. “Andrew has a substantial understanding of the vital infrastructure needed here and across the country. He has also demonstrated the ability to bring together a broad range of stakeholders to secure transportation project funding and achieve results that benefit the public at large.”

Dohrmann received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Western Washington University in Bellingham, Washington.
