T.Y. Lin International Hires John D. Kenyon, P.E., as Bay Area Unit Manager
T.Y. Lin International (TYLI), a globally recognized full-service infrastructure consulting firm, announces that John D. Kenyon, P.E., has been hired as Bay Area Unit Manager and Associate Vice President. In his role, Kenyon will be responsible for leading business development efforts and managing day-to-day operations for TYLI’s unit based in Oakland, California, with offices throughout the Bay Area. He will also serve as a Senior Project Manager on Surface Transportation and other special projects in Northern California.
Kenyon comes to TYLI with more than 20 years of experience in civil engineering, construction, and project management, including a strong background in operations, business development, strategic planning, customer relations, and team building. He is skilled at initiating leadership development programs, creating more efficient operational procedures, and recognizing growth potential in surface transportation markets. Kenyon’s extensive civil works experience in local and regional capital outlay projects has involved program and project management; capital and operational expenditure modeling; transportation planning studies; highway system design; and funding implementation strategies.
Kenyon’s portfolio includes numerous operational and safety improvement projects for the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans). He has served as Managing Director of capital and operational expenditure development for I-15 Express Lanes in Ontario, California, and as Deputy Project Manager responsible for funding, delivery, and implementation strategies for Caltrans’ proposed $1 billion TriLink (SR 239) Project in Contra Costa County, California. Kenyon also served as Deputy Program Manager for the Contra Costa Transportation Authority (CCTA) Program Management Services contract, where he oversaw project delivery, specialty assignments, funding and programming, project controls, and on-call contract administration.

A registered Professional Engineer in California, Kenyon received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from California State University, Chico.
