T.Y. Lin International Hires Paul G. Archibald, P.E., PTOE, as Project Director – Transportation for East Region

T.Y. Lin International (TYLI), a globally recognized full-service infrastructure consulting firm, announces that Paul G. Archibald, P.E., PTOE, has been hired as Project Director - Transportation for TYLI’s East Region. Based in the firm’s office in Malvern, Pennsylvania, Archibald will provide technical expertise in traffic engineering, transportation planning, design, and project management for Surface Transportation projects. He will also support TYLI’s continued market expansion in Pennsylvania and Delaware and serve as Project Manager and Lead Traffic Engineer on transportation infrastructure projects for TYLI clients such as the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT), Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PA Turnpike), Delaware River Port Authority (DRPA), and Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission (DRJTBC).

Archibald comes to TYLI with more than 30 years of experience as a transportation industry consultant serving numerous public sector clients in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia. Prior to joining TYLI, he was instrumental in establishing traffic engineering as a centrally managed core service.

Archibald has provided project management and technical support on various projects, including the design of new facilities, roadway reconstruction projects, intersection/interchange improvements, bridge replacements and rehabilitation, transportation planning, corridor and area-wide improvement studies, and traffic signal upgrade and replacement projects. He has also managed multiple open-end agreements by leading teams that provided engineering/environmental services, traffic/transportation engineering services, civil/structural design, and design/study review services for local, state, and tolling authority clients.

Archibald’s past projects include managing his firm’s work on the S.R. 422 West Shore Reconstruction project in Reading, Pennsylvania. Responsibilities included the oversight of traffic engineering and environmental studies for the entire project, including Environmental Clearance Documentation, Alternative Analysis and Point of Access Documentation, and the Preliminary and Final Design of a proposed Diverging Diamond Interchange at Penn Avenue.

Archibald received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Pennsylvania State University. He is a registered Professional Engineer in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, North Carolina, and Florida, as well as a certified Professional Traffic Operations Engineer. Archibald is active in industry associations, including the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE), the American Society of Highway Engineers (ASHE), and the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC).
