T.Y. Lin International Hires Shahram Monem, P.E., as Construction Manager and Resident Engineer for Northern California Markets
T.Y. Lin International (TYLI), a globally recognized full-service infrastructure consulting firm, announces that Shahram Monem, P.E., has joined the firm as Construction Manager and Resident Engineer for the Northern California markets. Based in TYLI’s Oakland, California office, Monem will be responsible for project delivery and construction management of private/public projects, with a primary focus on civil infrastructure related to public works and commercial/industrial development. He will also be involved with business development, operations, and staff development and supervision.
As a registered Professional Engineer in California, Monem comes to TYLI with 25 years of experience on a variety of infrastructure projects. These include local roads, interchanges and other transportation facilities, site improvements, parking lots, loading facilities, and utilities for public and private agencies.
Monem’s experience includes many successful years as a Resident Engineer on State of California highway projects, supervision of field engineers, enforcement of regulations and safety protocols, construction sequencing, scheduling, risk management, coordination and meetings with project engineers and stakeholders through public outreach forums, contract claims negotiations, contract fund management and progress payments, utility coordination, as-built preparations, contract completion and closeout, and California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) coordination and compliance.

A former Caltrans District 4 Resident Engineer (1997-2014), Monem received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Sacramento State University in California. He is a Registered General Contractor (A, B) in the state of California and an active member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).
