T.Y. Lin International Names Francisco “Frankie” Alonso, P.E., as Unit Manager for Miami Office
T.Y. Lin International (TYLI), a globally recognized full-service infrastructure consulting firm, announces that Francisco Alonso, P.E., has been named Unit Manager for TYLI’s Miami office. In this key position, he will work closely with the Miami-Caribbean-Latin America (MCLA) leadership team to further develop TYLI’s South Florida practice.
Alonso started with TYLI as an engineer intern in October 2002. He began assisting the civil group and having demonstrated strong leadership skills quickly became the lead for the municipal engineering practice for TYLI in South Florida. He serves as the client manager for more than 10 municipal engineering contracts including the Cities of Miami, Miami Shores, South Miami and West Miami. A notable project included a joint drainage improvement program for the Cities of Miami and West Miami. This program consisted of adding seven new stormwater pump stations and nearly 14 miles of storm sewers and force mains to alleviate extreme flooding in a two-square-mile flood prone area of Miami-Dade County.
In addition, he has been responsible for the site civil components for all of the MCLA projects ranging from airport aprons to city parks as well as drainage engineer of record for several FDOT projects. His diverse background makes him the ideal choice to lead this multi-disciplined office.
Alonso is a registered Professional Engineer in Florida. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Miami.
