T.Y. Lin International Provides Bridge Design for New Mexico’s First Diverging Diamond Interchange

T.Y. Lin International (TYLI), a globally recognized full-service infrastructure consulting firm, announces that TYLI served as Bridge Lead on the new Diverging Diamond Interchange (DDI) at I-25 and NM 14 (Cerrillos Road) in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Working closely with the New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT), and Molzen Corbin, the Prime Consultant, TYLI completed the structural design for two new prestressed concrete girder bridge structures to replace structurally deficient steel plate girder bridges along I-25. The Santa Fe DDI is the first interchange of its type in New Mexico and will reduce traffic congestion and increase safety and efficiency at one of the most important interchanges in the state. The new DDI opened on time and on budget in November 2016.

Eller Drive and Intermodal Container Transfer Facility Overpass Project Wins People’s Choice Award in 2016 America’s Transportation Awards Competition

Lin International (TYLI), a globally recognized full-service infrastructure consulting firm, announces that the Eller Drive and Intermodal Container Transfer Facility (ICTF) Overpass project for the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has won the People’s Choice Award in the 2016 America’s Transportation Awards Competition. Sponsored by the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO), AAA, and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the competition recognizes the greatest transportation projects accomplished each year by state Departments of Transportation. The People’s Choice Award is given to the project with the highest number of online votes. The Eller Drive and ICTF Overpass project in Broward County, Florida, earned 65,000 of the more than 220,000 online votes cast.

California Incline Bridge and Idaho Avenue Pedestrian Overcrossing Now Open in Santa Monica, California

Lin International (TYLI), a globally recognized full-service infrastructure consulting firm, announces the completion of two infrastructure projects in Santa Monica, California: the new California Incline Bridge and the Idaho Avenue Pedestrian Overcrossing (POC). A 750-foot-long post-tensioned concrete slab bridge, the California Incline Bridge begins atop the bluff slopes of Pacific Palisades Park and carries vehicular traffic, pedestrians, and bicyclists down to the Pacific Coast Highway at the base of the bluffs near Santa Monica State Beach. The bridge replaces a series of deteriorating, seismically-deficient sidehill viaduct structures built in 1930. The Idaho Avenue POC replaces the former California Incline POC constructed in 1957. An aesthetic, curving structure with signature V-shaped pier, the replacement POC emerges seamlessly from the historic Idaho Trail and spirals down to connect to the new multiuse bicycle/pedestrian path constructed for the California Incline Bridge project.
