T.Y. Lin International (TYLI) served as the Civil Engineer of Record for a new cargo terminal for the El Dorado International Airport in Bogota, Colombia. The largest, most important international and domestic air gateway in Colombia, the airport’s cargo operations rank the busiest among all airports in Latin America.
As Lead Designer on this complex Design/Build project, TYLI was responsible for the design and construction of a new 28-acre airside cargo platform and associated taxiways and taxi lanes. The modern cargo facility includes parking positions for 18 aircraft (Code F/E/D/C), rigid and flexible pavement, drainage system, utilities (water, fire and electrical), noise wall, Ground Service Equipment (GSE) surface parking lot, airfield lighting, and platform illumination system and signing and marking.
- The major, multi-million dollar airside infrastructure project was completed on-budget.
- The project was completed on-time, meeting all requirements for the fast-track schedule.
