T.Y. Lin International (TYLI) provided architectural, code, structural engineering, and mechanical, engineering and plumbing (MEP) services for proposed renovations of Building 14 at the Rochester Institute of Technology in New York. The project consisted of gutting and modernizing the 25,000-square-foot second floor and all ceiling systems for the first floor of the building.
- TYLI designed a new heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system for the entire building that uses both Direct Outside Air Supply and Chilled Beam technology for heating and cooling.
- New lighting design is accomplished using T5 and LED technologies.
- A new, addressable fire alarm system was designed to replace an aging zoned system.
- TYLI engineered a complete sprinkler system for the building.
