Originally opened in 1961 as a by-pass route around the urbanized area of Miami, the Palmetto Expressway (State Road 826) is now a major limited access urban expressway centrally located within Miami-Dade County. The Palmetto Expressway extends 24.4 miles from Pinecrest and U.S. 1 at the southern terminus to I-95 and North Miami Beach at the northern terminus, and is one of the two most-heavily traveled roadways in South Florida.

In an attempt to better manage traffic flow on the interchange from SR-826 and NW 25th Street, the firm was part of the team responsible for the improvements to 4 ramps for entrances and exits between the roadways. Construction plans for this project included highway, ramps, geotechnical exploration, drainage, right-of-way, signing and pavement markings, lighting, landscaping, cost estimates, and extensive maintenance of traffic plans. Design also included new retaining walls along SR-826 and the review of bridge plans. The firm also performed construction phase services.
