The Project involved the design and construction of an 85-story building that has become an iconic Taiwanese landmark. With an architectural profile that is distinctively Chinese in style, the unique pagoda-shaped towers sits atop two elevated podiums.
The height of the steel ductile framed tower measures 22.85 meters below ground (5 lower levels) and 347.6 meters above the ground. The foundation of the structure is 146 meters by 80 meters. The total gross floor area is 305,274 square meters.
- The box columns are designed to resist heavy vertical loads and filled with high performance concrete (fc'=560kg/cm2) in the lower 60 stories.
- Wind dampers and stiffened trusses are installed every 20 stories to withstand wind-induced drift acceleration.
- It is ranked as one of the tallest buildings in the Asia earthquake zone as well as one of the tallest buildings in the world.
