TYLin Expands Rail + Transit Sector Staff with Addition of Pedro Gonzalez
TYLin welcomes Pedro J. Gonzalez, PE, DBIA, as a Senior Project Manager within our Rail+ Transit Sector. Pedro brings over 30 years of experience and a proven record of success managing and coordinating complex rail and transit projects. Pedro’s vast knowledge and deep understanding of the transportation industry’s technical and regulatory requirements emphasize TYLin’s commitment to providing our clients with the best options to guide their projects.
When it comes to managing and coordinating multidisciplinary transportation projects, Pedro is a seasoned professional. He recently served as Senior Project Manager on the City of Atlanta’s ATLNext Capital Program’s Plane Train Tunnel West Extension. This USD 290 million project extends the Plane Train, an automated people mover (APM) system, connecting Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport’s eight passenger terminals. A new 700-foot tunnel extension will improve the train turnback operation, which increases passenger capacity by 20% per direction per hour. Pedro played a leading role in overseeing the development of the bridging documents, preparation of funding budgets, and procurement of both the tunnel design-builder and the APM contractor. He provided critical oversight of the Design and Construction Management teams.
Pedro also served as Design Review Manager for the award-winning PortMiami Tunnel project. This USD 1 billion project connects State Route A1A/MacArthur Causeway to Dodge Island, providing direct access between the seaport and highways I-395 and I-95. This new entry to the port streamlines access, improves safety, reduces congestion and air pollution in downtown Miami, and facilitates future development.
"Pedro's career in advancing transportation initiatives and his financial oversight expertise will bring significant benefits to our clients and the communities we serve. With his exceptional project management skills, clients can anticipate efficiency on their multidisciplinary projects," notes Rail + Transit South Sector Leader Vikas Jain, AICP, GISP. "Pedro's addition to our team reaffirms our commitment to delivering excellence in transportation and infrastructure solutions, further solidifying our position as a leader in the rail and transit sector and ensuring our continued success."
Pedro is a licensed professional engineer and certified by the Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA) as a DBIA Professional. He is also a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers.
