TYLin provided structural engineering services for a new affordable housing complex in Los Angeles, California.
This new permanent supportive housing complex comprises recycled steel containers stacked into towers of varying heights and connected by a central walkway. Modular container construction allowed for reduced on-site construction time.
Two of the stacks are elevated above an open space for ground-level parking, and the remaining stacks continue straight down to the building’s foundation. The project uses structural steel for the connecting walkway and podium over the parking.
