Northwest Municipal Conference Multimodal Plan
TYLin Leads Development of Multimodal Transportation Plan for Chicago's Northwest Municipal Conference
As part of its local technical assistance program, the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning enlisted TYLin to collaborate closely with the Northwest Municipal Conference (NWMC) and its diverse membership of 44 municipalities and townships spanning over 300 square miles, housing more than 1.3 million residents. Tasked with developing the Conference’s inaugural Multimodal Transportation Plan, our involvement sought to catalyze collaboration across municipal boundaries and provide communities with shared tools for transportation planning. Embracing a collaborative, regional approach, our team spearheaded a comprehensive plan development process, utilizing detailed data collection methodologies and robust multimedia and in-person outreach initiatives to identify and prioritize key elements such as bicycle corridors, trail connections, sidewalk gaps, and transit access barriers. By fostering deeper collaboration and leveraging innovative planning strategies, we aimed to create a more connected, equitable, and healthy region for all residents within the NWMC jurisdiction.
