Basement Flooding Protection Program
TYLin is providing engineering services to the City of Toronto to reduce basement flooding by improving the storm and sanitary sewer system in local East York and North York neighbourhoods in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
The scope of work under DDCA10: Engineering Services for Assignments under the Basement Flooding Protection Program (BFPP) includes coordination, modelling, detailed design, and contract administration and inspection services within the BFPP 4 assignment area.
The BFPP was initiated to reduce the risk of flooding by providing reliable infrastructure to meet the needs of the city, stakeholders, and local communities.
Project Highlights:
- TYLin provided additional designs for Toronto Water and Transportation Services, such as watermain, local road resurfacing, road reconstruction, and more.
- The existing hydraulic modelling was verified and updated using InfoWorks Software based on the evolving design.
- The As-Built Hydraulics Report will detail any changes and assess the need for a possible Environmental Compliance Approval (ECA) amendment through the Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change (MOECC).
- The project was completed by The Municipal Infrastructure Group Ltd (TMIG), now doing business as TYLin.
