BOG New Cargo Terminal
TYLin served as the Civil Engineer of Record for a new cargo terminal for the El Dorado International Airport in Bogota, Colombia.
El Dorado International Airport (BOG) is the largest, most important international and domestic air gateway in Colombia, with cargo operations that rank among the busiest in Latin America.
As Lead Designer on the design-build project, TYLin was responsible for the design and construction of a new 28-acre airside cargo platform and associated taxiways and taxi lanes.
The project included parking positions for 18 aircraft (Code F/E/D/C), rigid and flexible pavement, a drainage system, utilities, a noise wall, a Ground Service Equipment (GSE) surface parking lot, airfield lighting, and platform illumination system and signing and marking.
Project Highlights:
- The complex airside infrastructure project was completed on budget and on time, meeting all requirements for the fast-track schedule.
- TYLin ensured that airport operations were successfully maintained throughout the terminal construction, a top priority for the client.
- TYLin’s oversight of construction phase services required extensive coordination with other ongoing projects.
