Electrification Strategies
TYLin conducts analysis, planning and stakeholder engagement to help cities, regions, school districts, private organizations and others plan for electrification of transportation.
We have created zero-emission transition plans for dozens of transit agencies from the largest in the US (New York MTA) to among the smallest (the City of Covina, with six vehicles). To support these plans, we conduct route modeling and duty cycle analysis to identify compatible battery electric and hydrogen fuel cell technology and operational strategies, develop charging and fueling plans to support efficient and resilient operations, and conduct lifecycle cost modeling and equity analysis to prioritize investments. We combine this analytical work with robust stakeholder engagement to identify a plan that balances cost and risk with agency goals and values.
In addition, TYLin has conducted planning and policy analysis to support the transition of zero-emission freight, identifying the most effective incentive strategies, including pricing, requirements, and provision of publicly available charging. TYLin also develops charging station design guidelines and has conducting planning and analysis for the rollout of electric micromobility, including battery swapping services.
