Pearl River Tower
TYLin provided project management and engineering and design services for the Pearl River Tower in Guangzhou, China.
At 71 stories and 308 meters high, the “super green” Pearl River Tower is in the city’s Central Business District and recognized as an international icon of sustainability, energy efficiency, and eco-friendly construction.
As specialists in structural, mechanical, and electrical engineering, intelligent building systems, design aesthetics, and contract oversight, TYLin was appointed to ensure that the complex building construction met all quality, safety, progress, and cost criteria.
Project Highlights:
- The mixed-use building includes numerous energy-efficient and high-technology systems, earning the structure an A+ energy efficiency rating.
- The Pearl River Tower incorporates four 7-meter 6kW/hour wind turbines, 1,600 square meters of solar panels, chilled radiant air conditioning technology, heat recycling, low-energy lighting, intelligent building management systems, and one of the world’s fastest elevators at 15 meters per second.
- Annual carbon dioxide emissions are expected to be consistently 30.4% lower than levels found in traditional buildings.
