Our commitment to sustainability has led us to explore issues relating to embodied carbon, and to study and implement mass timber in order to reduce the overall carbon footprint of our projects. We have worked closely with architects, product manufacturers, and installers to realize projects ranging from offices and apartment buildings to recreation facilities and museums.

Amy is passionate about the future of mass timber and the role of structural engineers in a sustainable future for the built environment. She leads TYLin's Mass Timber Community of Practice and is engaged in industry groups and discussions advocating for mass timber construction.

Graham’s experience has grown from utilizing glulams on modern single-family residences to studying the use of various mass timber systems for larger projects including multi-family housing and cultural institutions.

Alex Vandenbergh

Alex Vandenbergh, PE, Senior Project Engineer

Alex worked on one of New York City's first mass timber condominium buildings. He has also worked on a variety of residential, government, and institutional mass timber projects throughout the Northeast.
