Nathan stays up to date on the latest developments in the industry through his participation in industry associations and shares his thoughts on structural engineering through his writings and collaborations with his peers.

Nathan Hicks joined TYLin in 2009 as the recipient of the Silman Fellowship for Preservation Engineering. As part of the fellowship, he spent six months at the National Trust for Historic Preservation, working at the headquarters in Washington, DC, with the Historic Sites Department.

After his fellowship experience, Nathan has enjoyed the opportunity to work on a few architecturally significant buildings, including the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, DC, the Rotunda at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA, Michigan Central Station in Detroit, MI, and the Carter G. Woodson Home National Historic Site in Washington, DC.
