Amy Hwang
Amy is a structural engineer who is passionate about knowledge sharing, continuous improvement, and perpetual learning.
Amy Hwang joined TYLin | Silman in 2000 as a structural engineer and has worked on many of its most complex and high-profile building projects from the stabilization of 160-year old roof trusses and the original plaster ceiling of the landmarked Marble Collegiate Church to the new Whitney Museum of American Art building designed by Renzo Piano (including the mid-construction upgrade to accommodate over 500-year flood levels).
In her role as Technical Development Director, Amy works to advance the knowledge sharing efforts in the Buildings Sector. She leads an internal Technical Advancement Group, which is a rotating group of engineers who are dedicated to developing methods, resources, and knowledge capture processes, with the goal of improving and expanding the firm’s technical knowledge sharing.
