Ian is a creative and versatile structural engineer who is passionate about collaborating with our clients to deliver sustainable project solutions.

Ian helped launch and continues to be one of the leaders of the Sustainability Community of Practice, an internal group involved in promoting sustainable design with the Building Sector of TYLin. He was actively involved in Silman becoming a signatory of the SE2050 commitment in 2020, a commitment by Silman and others to reduce and ultimately eliminate embodied carbon in their projects by 2050. 

Ian’s projects have varied widely in size, scope and structural materials. The Henry David Thoreau Footbridge, a glulam bridge suspended across the Shepaug River in Washington CT; the 154,000 gross-square-foot Neilson Library renovation at Smith College, focused around maintaining the existing brick masonry bearing walls of the original build; to the new 127,000 gross-square-foot Living Village Project at Yale Divinity School, the largest Living-Building residence at a University.
