Joshua Bedre
Josh is a devoted structural engineer who strives to “do things right” in all that he does.
That aspiration translates to creative collaboration with clients, goal-driven problem-solving with colleagues, and a practical, positive approach to our amazing business.
Mr. Bedre joined Architectural Engineers Collaborative in 1999, a year following its founding. He was introduced to structural engineering and architecture by his grandfather who designed, engineered, constructed, and sailed a fleet of shrimp boats in Aransas Pass, Texas. Josh recognized and embraced the artistry and attention to detail inherent in his grandfather’s designs. Throughout his education and engineering career, he has relied on the formative lessons learned from him.
Mr. Bedre is well-versed in the structural design of buildings having worked with structural steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, and timber. His diverse portfolio of projects includes airports, libraries, police facilities, park structures, schools, churches, museums, mixed-use and multi-family residential buildings, retail buildings, office buildings and private residences. Josh has strong analytical skills that are complemented by his understanding of the construction process.
Josh became a Principal in the firm in 2009. As Principal he serves as Manager of Engineering, responsible for engineering design, production management, technical standards and training.
