Luis, M. Sc. Civil Engineer and Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the Republic of Colombia, serves as an Associate Professor specializing in Special Steel Structures and Steel & Concrete Composite Structures at the Civil Engineering School of Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. With over 25 years of teaching experience, Luis brings a wealth of knowledge to his academic endeavors.
His expertise extends beyond academia, as he serves as a World Bank expert advisor and actively participates in various Working Groups, including FIB-CEB and ACHE, where he contributes to the advancement of structural engineering standards.
Luis's professional repertoire showcases his extensive involvement in bridge projects of various spans and typologies, encompassing arches, cable-stayed structures, and more. He is well-versed in diverse materials such as steel, concrete, and composite steel-concrete, as well as different erection methods. Additionally, Luis possesses specialized skills in designing underground structures, earthquake-resistant design, and signature buildings.
