TYLin provided engineering services to the City of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, for the Coordinated Toronto Water and Transportation Services Program (PM4D).

The PM4D program was initiated to ensure all municipal infrastructure is in a state of good repair across the city. Primary assignments stemming from this program included watermain, sanitary, and storm sewer replacement, storm sewer relining, local road resurfacing, and road reconstruction.

The entire program included the cumulative replacement of over 35 kilometres of watermain, 300 metres of sanitary sewer replacement, and 400 metres of storm sewer replacement and relining, and was divided across multiple firms.

TYLin’s scope of work included program management, risk management, project management, data
collection, preliminary design, detailed design, construction cost estimation, support services during
construction, and post-construction services.

Project Highlights:

  • TYLin was involved with many high-profile projects in the City’s downtown core, including the design of watermain and sanitary sewer replacements on Lower Jarvis Street, Yonge Street, Bathurst Street, Ossington Avenue, and George Street.
  • In the heart of East York, TYLin completed the design of watermain replacements along Mortimer Avenue and Logan Avenue.
  • In North York, TYLin designed the Finch Avenue and Humber College Boulevard watermain replacement and upgrade through coordinated efforts with Humber College and the Humber River Hospital Expansion.
