T.Y. Lin International (TYLI), a globally recognized, full-service infrastructure consulting firm, announces that Maximo “Max” Fajardo, TYLI Vice President, was inducted into the Miami Dade College (MDC) Alumni Hall of Fame on April 9, 2019, in Miami, Florida. The MDC Alumni Hall of Fame celebrates the achievements of outstanding alumni who are the civic and business leaders of the community while raising essential funds to support student scholarships for the next generation of leaders in Miami. Honorees are recognized for their career accomplishments and positive impact on the community and MDC.

Fajardo received an Associates in Arts in Engineering/General Studies at MDC and went on to earn a Bachelors of Arts in Public Administration from St. Thomas University in Miami Gardens, Florida. He then received a Master of Science in Construction Management from the College of Engineering and Design at Florida International University (FIU) in Miami.

Based in TYLI’s Miami office, Fajardo has over 45 years of experience in transportation engineering, including Program and Construction Management, Aviation Operations and Management, and Safety and Security. He joined TYLI in 2009 after spending 20 years in various management positions within the Miami Dade Aviation Department (MDAD), including Deputy Aviation Director for the Capital Improvement Program (CIP) and Operations. While at MDAD, he provided Program Management and oversight for the $6.3 billion CIP at Miami International Airport (MIA), including the North Terminal Development and South Terminal and Concourse J program, among others.

At TYLI, Fajardo has provided Program and Project Management services on various large-scale transportation projects, in the U.S. and internationally. His projects include serving as Project Director for the multi-year contract to provide comprehensive engineering services for PortMiami, the largest cruise port in the world and one of the largest cargo ports in the U.S. He also served as TYLI’s Project Manager for Cinta Costera Phase 3, an ENR award-winning major bridge and roadway project in Panama City, Panama. His responsibilities include business development, locally and internationally, and developing Airport Operational Assessments and Operational Readiness and Transfer (ORAT) programs.

Fajardo was also an adjunct professor in risk assessment, hazard mitigation and emergency management, planning/response for the Airports Council International (ACI) and in transportation maintenance engineering for the University of Miami.
