TYLin provided complete architectural and structural designs, specifications, design analysis, and construction cost estimates for multiple forward operating bases in Afghanistan.

The projects for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Middle East District supported the mission to secure borders in Afghanistan. Each fast-track design project included structures and buildings, infrastructure, and force protection requirements to house, feed, train, protect, maintain, and sustain members of the Afghan Police or U.S. Army. 

TYLin provided a multi-disciplinary design team consisting of architects, civil and structural engineers, quality assurance personnel, computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) staff, and cost estimators to support the 168th Engineer Brigade in Afghanistan. 

Project Highlights: 

  • TYLin’s work included Facility Designs for the Afghanistan National Civil Order Police, Afghanistan National Border Police Zone, Afghanistan National Border Police, and Afghanistan National Army Regional Military Training Center. 
  • The wide range of building types included administration, dining, training, toilet and shower, barracks, logistics, warehouse, laundry, vehicle maintenance, ammunition supply, guard shack, gate house, guard towers, canopies, and well house. 
  • TYLin delivered 22 final Facility Prototype designs in only 67 days from Notice to Proceed (NTP).
