Clark Fernon
A respected mentor and champion of diversity, equity and inclusion, Clark Fernon is the Business Transformation leader for Global Infrastructure.
Clark leads significant business transformation initiatives, such as identifying operational efficiencies across our alliance of brands through unified tools, systems, and processes. He works closely with the Enterprise Applications & Business Intelligence, Health & Safety, and Commercial Management teams while partnering with various other Shared Services departments to deliver initiatives. He also works with partners throughout the organization to standardize our project management approach, improve our suite of project management tools and guidance, merge and nurture our DEIB programs, and assess and manage risk.
Previously, Clark has acted as the Roads + Highways Sector Leader for the Americas and held leadership roles for significant transportation projects in Southern California. These have included the California High-Speed Rail program, various Caltrans and SANDAG on-call contracts, and the Mid-Coast Light Rail Transit project, where he served as the Principal-in-Charge for TYLin’s Project Management Consultant (PMC) team. The USD $2 billion project included 11 miles of new double tracking, four miles of elevated viaduct, nine new stations, and many other project features.
A registered Professional Engineer in California and Nevada, Clark has also served as a Director of the San Diego Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and is a member and past President of both the San Diego & Imperial Counties Chapter of the American Public Works Association (APWA) and the San Diego Transportation Development Association (SDTDA). He is also very active in the Calmentor program, having cofounded this A&E firm mentor-protégé program in collaboration with Caltrans District 11, SANDAG, the City of San Diego, and the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC). He earned a Bachelor of Science in Architecture and Civil Engineering from Princeton University in Princeton, New Jersey.
Clark is the recipient of the Honorable Ray LaHood award from WTS International’s San Diego Chapter and the Outstanding Service in the Private Sector award from APWA’s San Diego Chapter.
