WEFTEC 2024
100+ Years of Water Quality Expertise for Thriving and Sustainable Communities
A Century of Progress and the Road Ahead
In the early 20th century, waterborne diseases such as cholera and typhoid were common, and industrial waste flowed freely into rivers and lakes. But over the last 100 years, our understanding and management of water quality have transformed the way we live, shaping healthier ecosystems and communities.
Decades of scientific research, technical advancements, policy reforms, and public awareness have led to better management and improved treatment methods – providing many with access to safe, clean water, and restoring depleted waterways.
The next century of water
Still, complex issues threaten our water resources and how they are shared.
WEFTEC 2024 is an opportunity for our industry to look ahead to the next century and assess where we need to go.
We already see the impacts of climate change, growing populations, aging infrastructure, and emerging contaminants.
What opportunities exist to optimize water use within its lifecycle? How do we best approach the nexus of water and energy? Where can waste be reused? And, importantly, how can we create equitable outcomes for all individuals and communities? These are some of the questions we face as we look ahead to the next 100 years.
Building a legacy
The growing water team of TYLin is committed to building on our 100-year legacy of water innovation to protect and enhance water quality for future generations. By sharing our research and experience, we aim to align collective action and promote sustainable practices that will help create a thriving planet for the next 100 years to come.
