Buildings | Historic Preservation + Renovations

Restoring and reviving historic buildings with thoughtful innovation.

Since our founding, the preservation and renovation of historic buildings have been central to our mission, deeply embedded in our firm’s identity. Our commitment to honoring architectural heritage while integrating modern solutions reflects our understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities these projects present.

Our technical experts have consulted on more than 400 registered landmark structures, developing invaluable skills in the restoration and preservation of historic buildings. We execute complex structural upgrades, vertical and horizontal additions to historic structures, and bring new life to existing structures via adaptive reuse. Historic projects require knowledge of a broad range of building systems and may involve structural building frame modifications; the integration of mechanical systems; upgrades to the existing buildings with minimal cost impact or impact on visual elements; design of security measures; and approvals by various agencies.
