Traffic Engineering
Transportation is the foundation of strong communities. As recognized leaders in the industry, our transportation engineers integrate progressive planning concepts and technical expertise to enable transformational results.
Our traffic and transportation engineers specialize in reducing and managing vehicle demand, redesigning intersections and roadways to work more effectively, and converting rights of way to pedestrian and bicycle-friendly places. Using the latest traffic analysis technology, including simulation software that models the movement of autos and pedestrians in three dimensions, our engineers can demonstrate future results to clients, agencies, and community members, providing an effective tool to gain community support. Our team uses these tools, in tandem with the latest best practices, to inform designs that contribute to safe, livable communities.
We are always aware of the context of the projects we work on: the surrounding streets, the land uses and neighborhood context, and the pedestrian, bicycle and transit networks. Planning for and designing great streets requires care and an understanding of how various modes of transportation function in urban and suburban environments in order to balance the needs of a diverse range of users.
