Ampolla's Port Breakwater

The project involved repairing the main breakwater, along with the attached quays and yards of the Port of L'Ampolla, following the damage caused by Storm 'Gloria' on January 19th and 24th, 2020.

In addition to the primary armour damages identified along the breakwater by TYLin's ROV, the storm also caused high overtopping rates, creating dangerous conditions for both people and boats.

The project's goal was to repair the damage, reinforce the dike where greater protection was needed, and minimize future overtopping volumes. New armour blocks were designed and constructed, and the crown wall was extended with a nose-shaped addition to the existing structure.
