Ann Arbor Safe Streets and Roads for All Grant Assistance
The City of Ann Arbor contracted TYLin to assemble a grant application for the Safe Streets and Roads for All federal grant program.
Based on the City’s Vision Zero-focused long-range transportation plan, the City applied for funding to implement a variety of programs within the plan, including interim and permanent capital improvements targeting spot locations as well as systemic changes; a research program to study near misses; and development of a speed management program.
TYLin compiled the grant application per USDOT guidelines. Our team developed a compelling narrative stating the need for the projects, as determined by analysis conducted for the long-range transportation plan, and demonstrated how the project requests would address the need by pairing the grant request with research-backed evidence of the proposed programs’ impacts. The application was compiled into a concise, graphic-rich, and attractive document to set it apart from other applications.
The City was awarded nearly $4 million to complete several components of the grant request as a result of the application.
