TYLin provided planning, architectural, and design services for the Beitou Shilin Science Park, located between the Beitou and Shilin districts in Taipei, Taiwan.
One of Taipei’s largest science-driven facilities, the Beitou Shilin Science Park borders the Keelung River to connect with the Greater Neihu Science Park and Nankang Software Park.
The 90,000-square-meter urban development zone was designed to draw new businesses from the biotechnology, information technology, media, and telecommunication industries.
TYLin’s scope of work included site preparation, road and traffic engineering, drainage and sewage systems, pipeline and common duct engineering, park landscaping, a scenic embankment, and a residential housing program.
- The design for Beitou Shilin Science Park balances ecological and technological components, featuring a tree-lined main road and green environment.
- By adopting the high embankment “Super Levees” design, the project was able to utilize waterfront resources of the adjacent Keelung River, Swan Creek, Huang Creek, and old Swan Creek Channel to establish substantial riverside open space.
