TYLin provided design and construction engineering and inspection services for Berjaya Times Square, six developments in one architecturally-integrated building in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Berjaya Times Square is located on 40,894 square meters of land, with a total gross floor area of 695,995 square meters. The developments included Asia’s second-largest indoor amusement park, one of Asia’s largest shopping centers, an indoor theme park, corporate offices, and a hotel.
Due to the substantial size of the project, various types of structural systems were used to suit the requirements. TYLin provided innovative engineering solutions to reduce costs, simplify construction, and ensure that the structure is easy to maintain.
- The podium is 80.4 meters above ground level, and the tower is 196 meters above ground level.
- The five basement levels are 20-25 meters below ground and include a carpark with 4338 bays.
- Materials used include conventional reinforced concrete, post-tensioned prestressed concrete, precast concrete, and structural steel.
